Cotton Soft Detailing was founded by Travis Cotton in Edmonton in 2017, beginning in a narrow, snow-covered driveway—one vehicle at a time.
From the beginning, the focus was on understanding the condition of each interior, selecting appropriate methods for the materials involved and completing the work with care. Years of hands-on experience with different vehicles, materials and interior conditions helped establish the inspection-led process we use today.
As customer needs became more complex, our work moved beyond conventional detailing. We increasingly encountered deeply embedded spills, persistent odours, rodent activity, water intrusion, biological contamination and damage concealed beneath installed interior components.
These projects required more than surface cleaning. They required careful assessment, appropriate access, realistic expectations, clear documentation and decisions based on the vehicle’s actual condition.

When regulated mechanical removal or reinstallation is required, that work is performed by a qualified automotive technician through a third-party AMVIC-licensed automotive repair business.
Cotton Soft Detailing remains responsible for the interior cleaning, restoration and remediation portions of the approved scope.

Complex restoration projects can change as concealed areas become accessible. Clear documentation helps establish what was initially observed, what work was authorized and what was discovered as the service progressed.

Built on Realistic Expectations
Interior restoration is not about making unrealistic promises.
Results depend on the type and severity of contamination, how long it has been present, the condition of the affected materials and whether every affected area can be safely and reasonably accessed.
Some materials can be restored. Others may require replacement. Contamination or odour may also remain within enclosed areas that cannot be accessed without destructive procedures or extensive vehicle reconstruction.
Our responsibility is to explain these limitations honestly, recommend a scope supported by the vehicle’s condition and perform the authorized work with care and accountability.
